Amanda S. Copper, 92, of Greensburg RD4, Salem Township, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, in William Penn Care Center, Penn Township. One of 10 children, she was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Samuel Conrad and Anna Fligger Shawley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Copper; nine siblings; and children, Albert Copper, Sara Zellers, John Copper, Betty Copper and William Copper. Amanda enjoyed making quilts, needlework, and being with her family. She is survived by her children, David Copper (Nancy), of Bradford, Eleanor Lauffer (Ralph), of Greensburg, Alex Copper Jr. (Ann), of Jeannette, Dorothy Martz (Ron), of Greensburg, Shirley Rain, of Phoenix, Ariz., Ruth Bue (Kurt), of Export, Ron Copper (Debbie), of Anahuac, Texas, Bob Copper (Doreen), of New Alexandria, and Tom Copper, of West Virginia; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. H. Clifton Foster presiding. Interment services will follow in Congruity Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Amanda's name to Alzheimer's Association, 1011 Old Salem Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
