|Birth: ||Feb. 5, 1817|
|Death: ||Jun. 18, 1875|
Son of Alexander "Sandy" Copper and Elizabeth Johnson.
George married Eleanor Johnson (widow of James Irwin) 1845 Van Wert County, Ohio. They were married by Davis Johnson, Justice of the Peace. Davis was a cousin to Eleanor.
George, Eleanor and children left Van Wert County, Ohio sometime after the birth of Sarah, Dec 1855 (Ohio), and before the birth of Martha, Jul 1858 (Wisconsin).
Per Florence DiJulio: George would trap muskrat and otter along the Mississippi River during the winter to sell their fur; during the summer he worked as a tobacco broker. He would meet tobacco buyers at the stage coach stop and take them by horse and buggy to the farmers' fields. He would be paid for this service by the buyer and also earn a bonus from the farmer if a good sale was made.
George died while living in Freeman, Crawford, Wisconsin.
