Earl M. Coppage, prominent farmer of the Braggadocio Community, died July 17, 1987 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. He worked in the City Drug Store for H.T. Simpson in Caruthersville for several years before he attended the Denver School of Pharmacy in Denver, Colorado. After graduating in 1935 he purchased the drug store and operated it for several years.
In 1946 he and his family moved to Braggadocio where he was engaged in farming and ginning until his death. He was a 32 Mason and Shriner and a member of Lodge No. 461 at Caruthersville.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine (Babe) Martin Coppage; two sons, Gary of Braggadocio, Earl Martin of Lynchburg, Va., one daughter, Ginger of Minneapolis, Minn.; one brother, Joe Bob Coppage; one sister, Dorothy Coppage Long; four grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 19, 1987 at the Presbyterian Church in Caruthersville with Dr. Paul Currie and the Rev. Bill Luttrell officiating. Interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery with Dean Funeral Home in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Billy Collins, Joe Johnson, Paul M. Mehrle, Ed King, Rob Stone, Steve McKaskle, Mark Coppage and Todd Coppage.
NOTE: He passed away in the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
