Earl M. Coppage, long-time resident of the Braggadocio community, died at the Baptist hospital in Memphis, where he had been taken several days previously for treatment, Saturday night, at September 18 and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Long Jr. in Braggadocio.
Mr. Coppage was born at Litchfield, Ky., September 16, 1888, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hardin Coppage and was 60 years and two days of age. He moved to this state when a young man and had lived at Braggadocio for 35 years, where he was a prominent farmer and ginner and also was engage in the mercantile business. He had long been a member of the Christian Church.
Soon after moving to Braggadocio, Mr. Coppage was married to Miss Dorothy Collins of Caruthersville and three children were born to them, Earl M. Coppage, Mrs. Frank Long Jr. and Joe Bob Coppage, all survived and all living in his home town. He is survived by six grandchildren.
The Rev. Mr. Pickler of Memphis, former Baptist minister at Braggadocio, conducted the funeral service at three o'clock Monday afternoon and interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery. LaForge Undertaking Company was in charge of arrangements.
