MARIETTA — Services for Barbara Kay Copeland, 62, of Marietta, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta, with Pastor Brett Alberda officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, will be under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
The daughter of Earl and Helen Brown Carmon, Copeland was born in Marietta on April 13, 1951. She passed away at her residence Wednesday, Nov. 27.
A resident of Love County all of her life, Mrs. Copeland attended Marietta Schools. She was a homemaker. Her hobbies included spending time with family, especially grandchildren, shopping, talking on the phone and going to garage sales. Mrs. Copeland was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Don C. Arnold on Oct. 30, 2009; her parents; two sisters, Betty Eignor and Erline Williams; two brothers, Alvin Carmon and Don Carmon; and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by a daughter, Tifani Copeland of the home; a niece that was like a daughter, Stephanie Lott of Marietta; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Beverly Carmon of Marietta; two sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia and James "Kimo" Alana of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Cynthia McGill of Wichita Falls, Texas; and two grandchildren, Jayli Sampson and Karston Murphy.
Serving as casket bearers will be Johnny Oliphant, Kerry Whittemore, Charles Hartman, Zack Hartman, Justin Flanagan and James "Kimo" Alana. Honorary bearers are Justin Murphy, Richard Hankins, Billy Elles, Christy Morehead, Stephanie Lott, Stacy Hartman and Christian Flanagan.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
