Mr. Fred Barrett "Barry" Cooper, Jr., age 54, of Conyers, died Friday, April 26, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda Jameson Cooper; daughter, Kristin Cooper; son, Jonathan Cooper, all of Conyers; parents, Fred Barrett and Lorene Patricia Cooper, Sr., Simpsonville, SC; brothers and sister-in-law, Wayne and Pat Cooper, Charlotte, NC, Frank Cooper, Ashtabula, OH; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Layne Lemons, Fountain Inn, SC; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and beloved dog, Trixie.
Mr. Cooper was born November 29, 1958 in Newark, NJ. He grew up in New Jersey and South Carolina and attended Anderson College before graduating from the University of South Carolina and moving to Georgia after graduation.
He worked for Clairon Metals Corporation in Covington for 16 years and is currently employed with Dixie Industrial in Tucker.
Barry was active in the Emmaus Walk and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where he assisted with the sound system and served on various church boards. He loved mountain biking with his son, trout fishing with friends, and building sets for his daughter's school drama department.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 2533 Stanton Road SE, Conyers with Rev. Mike Nickolich and Dr. Robert Brown officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
