Retired U.S.A.F. MSG Sergeant Bobby Joe Coonrod, 77, of Denton passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Corinth. He was preceded in death by his beloved youngest son, Alexander Bruce Coonrod.
Bobby loved people, especially children. He was known about town as "The Candyman". His main claim to fame was "If I tear it down, I can fix it!"
Bobby leaves behind his older son, Danny Willmond, younger brother, Jackie Coonrod, 5 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren, extended family members, many friends, his beloved and faithful Sunday School Class, and the most wonderful wife, Helen, "My greatest love."
Bobby was faithful to his Baptist faith from birth to death. "If I hurt you, please forgive me because I never intended to cause anyone pain"
Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11:00 am. at Southmont Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Cooper Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Crews, Ben Smith, Dennis Roznovsky, Fred Merrell, E.J. Dane, Jerry Mallouf, Charles Hunter and David Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Crews and Zak Malelli.
