ASHTABULA — Patricia Ann "Patsy" Braat, age 49, a resident of Ashtabula, died suddenly on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nev.
Born Sept. 25, 1958, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Ellen (Condon) Cooney, and was a graduate of St. John High School class of 1978.
Patsy was a member of St. Joseph Church, the former manager of Heavenly Ham, a member of Labor Local 245, and was currently employed with Geneva Pipe Line.
For those people who had the privilege to know Patsy, you know in your own special way, the moments and times that you shared with her, and that her love for you will always be in your heart. Patsy's life was her children, her dash hounds, "Cloi", "KC", and "Bailey"; her kitty, "Cally Co", her dear and beloved family, along with the never ending list of friends.
Patsy was the person who always got everyone together for all occasions. She would always put everyone first before herself. She enjoyed feeding the wildlife and the great outdoors, especially lake and ocean views. She was the person who would do "spur of the moment" things. She loved to travel, campfires, planting and gardening, and more than anything else, LIFE. Patricia was proud to be 100 % Irish, and she looked forward to every holiday. Patsy finally got married to her soul mate and best friend, on Sept 20, 2008, before her life was suddenly ended on earth. But Patsy is a true believer in the Lord and will live for eternity.
Survivors include her husband, Christopher Braat of Ashtabula; sons, John Michael Laveck and Joshua Adam Laveck, both of Ashtabula; step-daughter, Christen Braat of Chardon; brothers, Thomas J. and Daniel Cooney of Ashtabula; sisters, Mary Arkkelin of Ashtabula and Colleen Fugitt of Louden, Tenn.; nephews, Thomas Cooney, and J.J. Arkkelin; nieces, Lisa Cooney, Stacey Arkkelin, and Kristen Arkkelin; and her great-nephew, Kaden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Michael Cooney.
