Bernard Cooley, son of George Cooley and Bridget Heath, married Pearl Hill 29 Jun 1916 in Flandreau, Moody Co., SD. They were the parents of one short-lived daughter, Dorothy, born 09 Mar 1917 in Montana; died 11 Sep 1922, Holstein, Griggs Twp, Ida Co., IA.

Dies on West Coast

Bernard Cooley, a former resident of Butte for many years, died Nov. 30 in Alderwood Manor, Wash., according to word received Monday by Mrs. Bernard Morrissey, 2521 Princeton, an old-time family friend.

Mr. Cooley had been in failing health for a long period of time, the victim of a heart ailment. During his many years residence in Butte, he followed the occupation of miner. The family home here was on Amherst Street.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Cooley; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Hill, a brother-in-law, Edward Hill; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ossie Kelly, and a niece, Carl Kelly, all in Alderwood.

The death was the second to strike the Cooley family in two days, his mother being summoned on Nov. 29 at Moses Lake, Wash.

Rosary for Bernard E. Cooley, 66, an Alderwood Manor chicken rancher, will be said at 8 o'clock tonight in the Teck chapel, Edmonds.

Requiem Mass will be said at 9 o'clock tomorrow in St. Pius X. Church, Mountlake Terrace. Burial will be in Holyrood.

Mr. Cooley was born in Temple Hill, Iowa. He came to Seattle in 1941 from Butte, Mont., and moved to Alderwood Manor 11 years ago. In the Second World War he was a boilermaker at the Todd Shipyards Corp.

Mr. Cooley was a member of the Holy Name Society and Local 104, Boilermakers' Union.

Surviving are his wife, Pearl; a brother, George Cooley, Storm Lake, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Parke, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. George Kock, Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Walter Bienlien, Holstein, Iowa.
