Mrs. Beatrice Cook. Adkins, age 97, of Danville, VA, died on February 1, 2013 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home. She was born on September 27, 1915, in Pittsylvania County, to the late Vesper Lee Cook and Georgia Porter Cook.
She worked at Dan River Mills, Inc. for 47 years and was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. She spent most of her life in the Danville area.
She is survived by her brother: Don Cook and sisters: Patsy Boggs and Iris Eberly. She was also predeceased by her husband, M. Saunders Adkins; brothers: Vesper Lee Cook, Jr., John Cook, and Howard Cook; and sisters: Ruth Stickley, June Transou, and Nell Coleman.
Burial will be at Danville Memorial Gardens.
