Helen Cook Bath, of Bridgeton died Friday afternoon January 4, 2002 at Southgate Health Care Center in Carney's Point following a brief illness. The wife of the late Loren D. Bath, who died in 1983, she was born in Greenwich and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret Driscoll Cook. A longtime Bridgeton area resident, she lived at her current address for the last forty years. Mrs. Bath was employed for twenty-five years in the cafeteria at Bridgeton High School. For five years before retiring in 1986, she was the manager of the school cafeteria. Several years ago she worked at Morvay Clothing Company in Bridgeton. In her retirement, Mrs. Bath was best known for her volunteer work at Bridgeton Hospital. She spent well over one hundred hours per year as a volunteer. She is survived by one brother, George Cook Sr. of Essington, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Dolbow. Private funeral services will be held at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton. Pastor Ron Whitehead of the Bethel Bible Church of Penns Grove will officiate. The interment will be made at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. At Mrs. Bath's request there will be no public visitation.
