Delphia G. Cook, 91, Kokomo passed away at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2012. She was born July 11, 1920, to the late Ernest and Minnie (Bolin) Reeves in Alpine, Ky. On Nov. 3, 1941, in Tennessee, she married William R. Cook. Mr. Cook passed away Nov. 16, 1992.
"Dell" worked at Kmart as a store clerk for 16 years until retiring in 1980. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and loved to spend time reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was always a godly example for her children and grandchildren. She had a contagious laugh, and was a fun, loving person to be around. Dell was a member of Indian Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are her three children, Ron (Fran) Cook, Fort Myers, Fla., Linda (Kurt) East, Pine Mt. Club, Calif., and Glenna (Denny) Cook, Kokomo; one brother, Donald (Ester) Reeves, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Elsie Bray and Stella Bray; a grandson, Dan Snow; and a great-granddaughter, Marqui Cook.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster St., with Ministers Steve Cole and Nathein Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery.
