Lewis Calvin Cook was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Cook, and lived near North Kansas City. He was born in Pierce County, Wisconsin, February 11, 1897. He attended the schools at Sedalia, Missouri, and was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter-Day Saints. October 22, 1917, he entered service at Cheteck, Wisconsin and was with the 132nd Artillery. He was later made a commissioned First Lieutenant. The sacrifice of life was made in the battle of the Argonne Forest, October 18, 1918
