Birth: Sep. 15, 1870
Death: Dec. 10, 1905

December 28, 1905

Jennie Cook, daughter of James and Elmyra [Almyra] Cook, was born Sept. 15th, 1870, near Spring Hill, Ia., died Dec. 10th, 1905, age 35 years, 2 months and 25 days.

On Feb. 19, 1890, she was married to Oren Alexander: to this union were born two children both daughters, Ada and Edith.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in May 1903, remaining faithful to the end. For five years she has suffered much on account of ill health though at times giving to her friends some hope of her complete recovery but finally she yielded unto death but left abundant evidence that her peace was made with God.

The funeral service was conducted at the Linn Grove Church; her former pastor Rev. C. W. Proctor preached the sermon from Romans 4:9. The pastor Rev. W.C. Smith assisted in the services. The interment was in the Webb Cemetery.

Prole December, 1905. One of the largest funerals that has been held in the Linn Grove Church for years was held on Wednesday of last week, on the death and burial of Mrs. Oren Alexander, Revs. Smith and Proctor, officiating. Rev. Proctor preached the sermon from these words, "There remainth therefore a rest to the people of God." Heb 4:9. The house was crowded to overflowing from all parts of the vicinity. Center Chapel, Spring Hill, Norwalk and Wick came to pay their last respects to the departed. She was buried at the Webb Cemetery. We expect to read her obituary from a more accomplished hand than ours.
