DIED--Mary Cook Ashby, on February 4th, at her residence in Afton; aged 70 years and one month.
Mrs. Mary Cook Ashby was born at Long Branch, N. J., Jan 4th 1814. She was married to Hamilton Ashby, Jan. 17, 1837. Her husband died at Harrison, Ohio, May 1, 1856. Mrs. Ashby removed from Ohio to Indiana in 1856 and to Afton, Iowa in 1864, where she has since resided. She leaves one son and three daughters to mourn their loss.
Mrs. Ashby was a member of the Presbyterian Church for fifty years. During the rebellion her two sons went to the front. Julius, her youngest son, died during his time of service.
The funeral will take place tomorrow from the Presbyterian church at 2 0'clock P.M.
