RIDGE FARM — Betty J. Cook, 85, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at Hawthorne Inn, Danville.
She was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Ridge Farm, the daughter of Ora and Gordie (Pierce) Phillips, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Robert Cook on April 18, 1952, until his passing.
She is survived by her several nieces and nephews spread across the country.
Betty was known for her amazing seamstress abilities and for being a great cook. She enjoyed the holiday gatherings with her nieces and nephews. She also was a member of the Ridge Farm Ladies Home Extension.
A celebration of Betty's life will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel, Georgetown, with Pastor James Walker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Betty's name to donor's choice of charity.
