Bill Cook, age 54, of Galveston, loved to travel and on Thursday, March 4, 2010, in UTMB, Galveston, took his final trip and joined his dad William (Billy) Arthur Cook, Sr. and his mother, Mary Lou (Sides) Cook in heaven. Bill was born August 2, 1955 in Houston and lived most of his life in the Houston area. He graduated from Deer Park High School and then from San Jacinto Junior College with an Associates Degree in nursing. He met the love of his life, Elizabeth Diane in 1982 and in 1983 they were married at Forrest Oak Baptist Church in Houston. They were blessed with a daughter, Lisa Michelle Cook-Matthews and son-in-law, Andrew and also a granddaughter, Krista Renee Matthews. Bill and Diane lived in Palestine, Texas for fourteen years and recently moved to Galveston. He loved being with his family. His passion was taking care of his patients. Bill is also survived by his brothers, Tom Cook of Centerville and Wayne Cook and wife, Nancy of Pasadena; nephews, Keith Cook of Austin and Stephen Cook of The Woodlands; and two adopted granddaughters, Kristal and Koti Russell of Palestine. Funeral services for William Arthur "Bill" Cook, Jr. was held Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Deacons Don Wilson and Joey Barney officiating. Interment followed in Conner Cemetery in Ratcliff, Texas. Family received friends at 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
