Mrs. Jean Cook, age 87, of Crockett, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 in the Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Unit in Lufkin. She was born July 19, 1926 in Houston County and was a lifetime resident of Crockett. Mrs. Cook was retired having worked as an office manager at Houston County Ready Mix with 33 years of service. She was a member of Grace Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Marsha Cook; daughter and son-in-law, Renea and Kerry Minter; grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson and husband, Ryan , Lene' Handley and husband, Seth of Corrigan, Kurt Minter and wife, Leah; great-grandchildren, Skyler Handley, Taylor Handley, Kutter Minter; nephews, C. E. "Butch" McDaniel, Ronnie McDaniel of Manvel; niece, Beverly Ashby of New Caney.

Preceded in death by husband, Happy Cook; father, Kurt Victor Hoppe and mother, Jewell Jennings Moose.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Cook will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Mr. Frank Minton officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
