Mrs. Edna Cook, age 86, of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. She was born October 3, 1926 in Houston County and had lived all of her lifetime in Crockett. Mrs. Cook had worked for the Royal Café for 18 years and retired having owned and operated a day care facility. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Debbie Whiffen of Crockett; grandchildren, Victor Whiffen and wife, Rachel Heartt, Daniel Whiffen, Barbara Thompson and husband, Roger; great-grandchildren, Christopher Coplan, Alyssa Whiffen and Susan Thompson; daughter, Kathy Bowman and husband; grandsons, Trey Bowman and wife, Angel of Amarillo, Adam Bowman and wife, Holli; great grandsons, Taylen and Wyatt Bowman of Amarillo; sister, Effie Brock and husband, Winfred; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by husband, Melvin Elwood Cook; son-in-law, Thomas Whiffen; great-granddaughter, Angel Nicole Thompson; sister, Lela Crenshaw and brother, Luther Wolf.
Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Cook will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Goss officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Thursday evening beginning at 5:00 p. m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
