Alan K. Cook, 43, of Waverly, N.Y. passed away on Feb. 2, 2009 at home. He was born on March 4, 1965 in Anchorage, Ala. the son of Keith and Nancy Gardner Cook.

Alan was a graduate of Athens High School class of 1983. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He drove for Valley Taxi for many years where he developed many friendships. He also drove for Gary Robbins Limo Service. Alan was also known for his great sense of humor.

He is predeceased by his grandparents Howard and Lula Gardner and Martin and Eileen Cook and several aunts and uncles.

Friends and family may call on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, Inc., 225 South Main Street, Athens, Pa. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Alan's memory to: The Legacy, P.O. Box 404, Athens, PA 18810.
