Mary Ella (Petty) Cook was born May 17, 1918 in Hot Springs Arkansas. She passed away on November 5, 2012 in Irving Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha (Lawler) Petty, father, James Petty, three brothers, Farmer Petty, Luther Petty, Calvin Petty, one sister, Myrtle (Petty) Brown and husband, Curtis K. Cook. She is survived by her son, Curtis L. Cook and wife Pat (of Little Rock), daughter, Janice (Cook) Stroman and husband David (of Irving, TX), three grandchildren, Wendy (Cook) Luzietti and husband Nicholas (of Tyler, TX), David L. Stroman and wife Angie (of Colleyville, TX), and Jeffrey Cook and wife Janice (of Vincennes, IN) as well as five great-grandchildren plus two step great-grandchildren.

Mary Ella was blessed with a beautiful voice which she used singing solos in various churches around Hot Springs well into her eighties. She volunteered for the Salvation Army and had the gift of hospitality. One of her proudest accomplishments was organizing and operating a licensed day-care center in her home for children 3 months and older.

Mary Ella loved God and was devoted to Him and to her family.

Graveside service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with of Rev. Conley Henderson officiating
