He was born in Portland on Feb. 17, 1947, the son of James and Phyllis (Bickford) Conrad.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Portland. He worked for the City of Portland Public Works and Parks and Recreation Dept. He retired after over 30 years of dedicated service.
Richard was a very social person and made countless friends and acquaintances during his many years with the city. He did volunteer work at local nursing homes and his hobbies included playing Bingo.
Richard is survived by his two brothers, Thomas and Frank Conrad, and his two sisters, Frances Yuan and Anita Walker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and great- nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland, with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Forest City Cemetery.
