Bonita was born Dec. 13, 1951 in Joplin, MO. Her parents were Herbert Lee and Bonnie (McKinzie) Conrad. She had lived in the area most of her life.
She graduated from Galena High School in 1970.
She was a housewife. In the 1990’s she owned and operated Bonita’s Button Box in Marshfield, MO.
She attended the Assembly of God in Duenweg, MO.
She enjoyed sewing, crafts, quilting and bragging about her grandchildren.
Bonita was married to Glenn D Bennett on October 14, 1997 in Miami, OK. He survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Christina Slimp, Columbus, KS; her father, Herbert Lee Conrad, Galena; 2 brothers, Curtis Dale Conrad, Galena, and Billy Conrad (wife, Kathy), Joplin, MO; 2 sisters, Ruthie L Ash (husband, Roger), Galena, and Lorna Miller, Joplin; her brother-in-law, Tommy Bennett (wife, Connie) Columbus, KS; 4 grandchildren, Zoe Riddle, Anthony Gilmore, Cale Jilge, and Nicholas Shellenbarger.
She was preceded in death by her mother, one son, Edward Marvin Lee Slimp, and her great-grandson, Landon Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 21, 2014 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Pastor Jeff D. Martin will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday Nov 20, 2014 at the funeral home.
