John Paul Conrad, Sr. was the first baby born at Chilocco Indian Hospital in Oklahoma, on December 16, 1935. He passed away peacefully on the evening of of May 5, 2010. Born and raised in Oklahoma, he earned a Bachelors degree from OSU and a Masters degree from OU. He was a huge OU Sooner fan, (unless, of course, they were playing the OSU Cowboys). He was a commissioned officer serving 30 years with the US Public Health Service. During that time he earned a Presidential service award. He leaves his beloved wife of 52 years, Sylvia, and three children, daughter Teresa Myers and her husband Mike, daughter Cheri Hedges and her husband Don, and son John Jr. and his wife Desiree. He enjoyed eight wonderful grandchildren, Stephen and Paul Myers, Sarah, Michael, Rebekah and Mark Hedges, and Corey and Carissa Conrad. Visitation will be Monday evening, May 10th, at 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dalton & Son Funeral Home in Lewisville. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, at 11:00 AM, DFW National Cemetery, in Dallas.
