Born in Forest City,N.C.,Mr.Connor was a son of the late Hal Boyd Connor and Euzelia Watson Connor.He received an Associate degree from ClemsonUniversity.He was in the South Caroliona National Guard for 30 years,retired as a Major,and worked for Springs Mills for 28 years. He was a member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church and the Catawba Masonic Lodge #56,where he was former treasurer.
Surviving are his daughter,Carman Connor Towery of Fort Mill;three grandchildren,Robert Parker,HaleyParker and Chandler Towery;two great-greatchildren;two sisters,Martha Jo Norwood and Marilyn Connor,both of Fort Mill;and his fiance,Phyllis Carswell of Cattttawba. He was preceded in death by his wife,Jeanette Sailors Connor; and a brother, Harold Jerry Connor.
