Obituary of Catherine Velma Lehman Conner
(October 14, 1920 - February 4, 2012)

Biloxi, MS ~ Mrs. Catherine Velma Lehman Conner, of Biloxi, MS, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the age of 91, in Biloxi.

Catherine and her twin sister, Charlotte, were born and raised in La Place, Illinois. In June of 1942 Catherine married her junior high school sweetheart, Wendall Conner. His career in the U. S. Air Force took them all over the United States and overseas. They moved to Biloxi in January, 1964, where Wendall eventually retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and they decided to make their home here.

Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Wendall, her three older brothers and her twin sister. She is survived by her daughter, Christie Rawls and her husband, Dan, of Biloxi; grandson, Chad Carmichael and his fiancee, Rachel, of Arlington, VA; grandson, Jason Rawls and his wife, Aubree, and their three children of Ocean Springs; her younger sister, Lois Binder of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Loyalton (Emeritus) of Biloxi, especially those in the Memory Care Unit, Odyssey Hospice and Keesler Medical Center for their compassion and caring. Also, a very special "thank you" to our dear family friend, Janet Chandler.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Beauvoir United Methodist Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.

Because of Catherine's great love of animals the family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 B 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.

Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
