"Death - George Conkey , 7?, retired Ronald farmer living near Woodard Lake, died at his home Friday afternoon. He had been in failing health for some time , and was recently treated at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Conkey was born on the farm where he died, and was the son of Eli and Myra Conkey. He took and active part in the community of life of his neighborhood, was a member of the Orleans Methodist Church and of the Palo Masonic lodge.
Funeral services were held from the Fales-Huffman Funeral Home in Belding, Monday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Thomas Rice, former local and Orleans minister, now located at schoolcraft, preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in Wood Lake Cemetery.
Surviving besides the widow, Mrs. Myrtle Conkey, are three nieces and a nephew, Mrs. Emaline Smith of Woodard Lake, Mrs Ma_ Stoddard of Orleans, Mrs. Edger Garrard of Arizona, and Albert Conkey in New Hampshire.
