Rene Collette Cone Blackmon, 46, was a Special Education Teacher for 22 years and was recently National Board Certified, she had received the Highlands County School Board Summit Award, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was very active, she had been a resident of Avon Park since 2007 coming from Lake Wales, FL; she enjoyed working with youth and spending time with her family and pets. She is survived by her husband-David Blackmon and daughter-Victoria; parents-Jim and Ann Cone; grandmother-Jessie Bumgardner and mother-in-law-Jeanette Blackmon and extended family and friends. Burial in Lake Wales Cemetery.
