Charles F. Cone Sr. was a Confederate Soldier. He enlisted as a Captain on 14 Nov 1861 at age 26. He mustered out on 16 July 1862 at Camp Hill, Tennessee. He reenlisted on 02 Dec 1863 and was promoted to Full Farrier in Co. G, 5th Battalion, Florida Calvary. A farrier is one who shoes horses and treats them medically.
