Mrs. Rena Mae Wiley, age 70, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday morning, March 1, 2011, after a brief illness at Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was a Bulloch County native and retired from Georgia Southern University in 2004. She was a 1960 graduate of William James High School. She was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as president of the Gospel Choir. She was a member of the Bulloch County branch of the NAACP.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Angela (Julius) Tremble, Mrs. Jennifer (Tony) Grant and Ms. Latoya Wiley, all of Statesboro, Ga., and Mrs. Beverly (Terry) Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; one son, Mr. Freddie (Marcie) Wiley of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister, Ms. Valerie Brown of Statesboro, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. Dennis (Lillian) Cone and Raymond (Barbara) Cone, both of Statesboro, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Rena Mae Wiley will be Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Arcola Road, Brooklet, Ga., with Pastor Richard A. Lawrence officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Rena Mae Wiley will lie-in-state from noon until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
Family visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2011, from 7-8 p.m. at Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel.
