Burfordville--Mrs. Nellie T. Brown, 81 years old, of Burfordville, died at a Jackson nursing home Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Brown, the former Miss Conder, was born Oct. 11, 1888, at Zalma. On March 18, 1905, she was married to W. D. Brown, who died July 3, 1959.
She lived in the Scopus community in her early married life, moving to Burfordville 29 years ago. Mr. Brown engaged in the timber and sawmill business until his retirement, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1956. She was a member of the New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
Surviving are five sons, O. J. Brown, Shelby Brown, Hobert Brown, and Paul Brown, all of Jackson, and Bill Brown, Winston Salem, N.C.; nine daughters, Mrs. Joe Hahn and Mrs. Orville Reitzel, both of Burfordville, Mrs. Linus Quade, Jackson Star Route, Mrs. Jerry Dockins and Mrs. Edward Hahn, both of Jackson, Mrs. Sam Marshall, Sedgewickville, Mrs. Steve Propst, Cape Girardeau, and Mrs. Roy Abernathy and Mrs. Leslie Welker, both of Wood River, Ill.; three half sisters, Mrs. Harley Allmon, Lanesville, Tex., Mrs. Ernest Schuette and Mrs. Cora Cunningham, both of Jackson; one half brother, Theodore Conder, Jackson; 20 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Three children preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 at the New McKendree United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ronald E. Wood Jr., pastor. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
The body is at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home, Jackson, and will be taken to the church at 1 Friday afternoon.
