James Concannon, Sr., 92, one of Ivesdale's oldest residents, died in his home here at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday. Despite his advanced age he had been in good health and was ill only four days before his death.
Mr. Concannon was born in Clare Morris, County Mayo, Ireland, April 11, 1947. He came to the United States in March 1871 and was married in LaSalle Jan. 12, 1877, to Sarah Walsh of Peru, who died June 23 1895.
He moved to a farm near here shortly after his marriage and continued its operation until 1911, when he retired and moved into Ivesdale. He leaves three children, Mary, at home; Mrs. John Burns of Monticello and James Jr., Ivesdale; a sister, Mrs. Celia Merric, Peru; three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Services for Mr. Concannon will be conducted in St. Joseph's Catholic Church here at 9:30 a.m. Friday by the pastor, Rev. Fr. Charles D. Martin. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
