Mrs. Ila Mae Callan, age 92, of Rome, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Callan was born June 6, 1923, in Cherokee County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Willie Comer. She was preceeded in death by her late husband Will Miller Callan, Sr., son Kenneth Wayne Callan, a daughter-in-law, Nancy Callan, two brothers,and a sister. Survivors include her sons: Harold (Diane), Doug (Anita), Bill (Jan), Tommy, Will, Jr. (Carol), Jack (Melinda), and two daughters, Nellie Clements (Larry) and Ann Rhinehart (Tom). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, step- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides being a homemaker, Mrs. Callan was employed at Troy’s BBQ for many years. She was a long time member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Rome, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue, Rome, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Talmadge Barnes officiating. Pallbearers include grandsons Gene Callan, Dale Clements, Greg Clements, Danny Clements, Keith Callan, Will Callan, Seth Callan, Thomas Callan and LanceShiflett. Honorary pallbearers will include other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, GA. 30165 has charge of arrangements.
