She was united in marriage April 4, 1949 in Salem, Arkansas to Eugene Blankenship.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene of the home in Thayer, Missouri; one daughter, Brenda Sue Scott and her husband, Larry of Thayer, Missouri; one son, Gary Lee Blankenship and his wife, Paula of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Sara Blankenship of Pottersville, Missouri, Lauren Scott of Thayer, Missouri and Catherine Grace Blankenship of Springfield, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Elly Burrell and Anna Blankenship of Pottersville, Missouri; one brother, John Combs and his wife, Mary of Arnold, Missouri and one sister, Pat Nettles and her husband, Reylon of Arnold, Missouri.
She worked for Puritan, Barad's and Lee factories in Thayer for many years and was a homemaker.
She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Thayer, Missouri, where she served as Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Sunday School Superintendent.
Betty currently was on the Board of Directors and actively involved with Fun and Friends Senior Center in Thayer. She served as Secretary of the Council on Aging of Oregon County.
Betty was the strength and stability of the family. She was always kind, forgiving and understanding to all that knew and loved her. She worked her whole life to support her family and church. "Minnie" taught her children and grandchildren by example in a quiet powerful way. Her self-sufficient, independent will has, and will always continue to lead her family. While we mourn her loss we will always feel her strength.
