Bobby was born March 30, 1938, in Vincent, KY, to the late Orear and FLora (Estes) Combs. He was a former Truck Driver with the Three Forks Apothecary, a member of the Beattyville Church of The Nazarene, and a US Army veteran. He loved entertaining the senior citizens with his guitar, at their regular gatherings.
Along with his wife of 55 years, he is survived by 3 sons; Jack (Theresa) Combs of Nicholasville, KY, Melvin (Patti) Combs of Cynthiana, KY, Donald (Nina) Combs of Beattyville, KY, 1 daughter; Kathy Combs Cheek of Beattyville, KY, 2 brothers; Billy (Teresa) Combs, and Steve (Virginia) Combs, both of Beattyville, KY, 8 sisters; Edith (Fred) Brown of Flatwoods, KY, JoAnn Flynn, Louise Coomer, Carolyn (Larry) Wright, and Gelonda Cope, all of Beattyville, KY, Susie Jackson of Irvine, KY, Martina Robertson of Richmond, KY, and Angie (Greg) Carlin of Indianapolis, IN, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Joan, Drucillia, and Mildred Combs, Margaret Lynch, and Onevia Collins.
Funeral services, along with military rites by the Three Forks VFW Post # 11296, will be Saturday, October 23, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at the Booneville Funeral Home, Booneville, KY, with Chaplain Paul Dyer officiating. Burial in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Booneville, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
