of Great Bend, Pa. Arlyn F. Colwell, 68, of Great Bend, Pa., went to the loving arms of Jesus at his home on March 6, 2006 after his long battle with cancer.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert G. Colwell and Anna A. Colwell; and by his brothers, Ralph and Richard.
Arlyn is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Shirley A. Colwell; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mark Gaeta, Kirkwood, N.Y.; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Donna Colwell, Waterbury, Conn.; four grandchildren, Stefanie, Merissa and Garret Gaeta and Katherine Colwell; by his puppy, Bella; four brothers, Arnold Colwell and wife Jane, Jackson, Pa., Ronald Colwell, Hallstead, Pa., Kenneth Colwell, Binghamton, N.Y., Merle Colwell and wife Jean, Windsor, N.Y.; three sisters-in-law, Florence Colwell, Hallstead, Pa., Olive Colwell, Hallstead, Pa., and Helen Oakley and husband, Foster, Harford, Pa.; many nieces and nephews.
Arlyn worked at Kroehlers for eleven years while being a dairy farmer for forty-seven years. Upon retirement, he worked at River Run II Golf Course through his illness. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was his wife, family and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in sports, especially the Windsor Basketball program. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who touched many people. He will be sorrowfully missed. We would like to thank Dr. Readling and his staff and the Asera Care Hospice, Clarks Summit, Pa., especially Mary Pat.
Funeral will be held at Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, 5 Susquehanna Avenue, Hallstead, Pa. on Friday, March 10, 2006, at 11 a.m. with pastor Donald Littleton officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
