S/O William Sr. and Addie Colvard
Obit:
Landon Colvard,Sr.89 of Pikeville,Tn.
passed away at an area hospital on
Sept.22, 2010.He was a member of the
Pikeville Church of God. He was also
a vertran of the United State Army and
served during WW II.He was a member of
the American Legion. Landon accomplished
many things during his life and served
in many capacities in local government.
He was a Tennessee State Senator from
1953-1955 and served as Bledsoe County
Clerk and Master and Registor of Voters.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
William Sr. and Addie Colvard, and four
brothers;Leo Colvard,Phillip Colvard Sr.
and William Colvard,Jr.
Five Sisters; Edith Colvard Duckett,
Vivian Colvard Joiner, Amy Colvard,
Sylbil Colvard Seals and Gladys Colvard
Humble.One gr.daughter, Amy Hope Colvard
Richards.
He is survived and will be soley missed
by his wife of 67 yrs,Hortese Graham
Colvard. Three sons; Landon(Charlotte)
Colvard,Jr, Thad "Ronny"(Carol)Colvard,
Daniel "Dan" G.(Sue) Colvard, and one
daughter; Rebecca Ann(Greg)Forgey.
Fifteen great grandchildren;
several nieces-nephews and many friends.
A celebration of his life wil be held in
the chapel of Pikeville Funeral Home,
Saturday, September 25,2010 at 2 p.m..
Leroy Forgey and Ronny Colvard presiding.
Burial with full military honors will be
held at Pikeville City Cemetery following
the service.
