Alice Gwenlyn Colson Vautrinot, at 93 years, descendant of three Mayflower passengers, passed away on Feb. 6, 2013 in Bay Path Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Duxbury, Mass. at age 93. She was born June 27, 1919, daughter of Alonzo Howard Colson and Mary Madlyn Scott Colson of Wakefield, Mass. She married Alan C. Vautrinot on Oct. 7, 1939. The happy marriage lasted for 54 years until Alan died on August 4, 1993. Alice is survived by her two sons, Alan Carpenter Vautrinot Jr. and Donald Colson Vautrinot, both of Plympton, Mass., 6 grandchildren: Dr. Thomas A. Vautrinot and Robert H. Vautrinot, both of Plympton, Leanne M. Grace of Dennis, Kimberly M. Vautrinot of Falmouth, Karen M. V. Quinn of Mashpee, and Samantha L. Prentice of Wareham. She is also survived by 27 great grandchildren. A grandson, Donald C. Vautrinot Jr. of Bradenton, Fla. predeceased her. She attended Northfield School for Girls in Northfield, Mass followed by Bryant and Stratton School in Boston. She lived in Wakefield, Hull, Wollaston and Weymouth before settling in Plympton in 1957. She remained in Plympton for the rest of her life excepting the years 1986 to 1995 when she lived in Florida. A lifelong horse lover, she was founder and longtime member of the Plympton Wranglers, a local horse club. She also spent many years as secretary of the First Baptist Church in Duxbury, Mass. and the Bible Baptist Church of Bradenton, Florida. She was a Red Sox fan, watching every pitch of every game including all spring training games. She attended her last game on April 30, 2012 when she was 2 months shy of 93. Excepting her time in Florida, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Duxbury from 1978 until her death. There will be a celebration in remembrance of her life for family and friends at the First Baptist Church of Duxbury at a later date. Alice Gwenlyn (Colson) Vautrinot, 93, passed away Feb. 6, at Bay Path Nursing Home in Duxbury. Wife of the late Alan C. Vautrinot, she leaves her two sons, Alan C. Jr. and Donald C., both of Plympton. She also leaves six grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren. There will be a celebration in remembrance of her life for her family and friends held at the First Baptist Church of Duxbury, 2 Tremont St., Saturday, March 16, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield after the service.
