Rosia Lee Collum Boyd, 84, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Brother Wayne Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Rosia was born April 24, 1927, in Palo Pinto County. She married Charles D. Boyd on Nov. 2, 1946, in Palo Pinto County.
She worked as a dietary cook for Northwest Texas Hospital for 25 years. Rosia loved to stay in contact with friends and relatives and enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and writing stories. She had a love for wanting to travel.
Rosia was ready to go home and meet the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D Boyd; a son, Cecil Boyd; a grandson, Gordon Leslie Pringle II; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Boyd and wife Janet of Amarillo and Jimmy Boyd of Clarendon; three daughters, Anna Chandler of Austin, Millie Beal and husband Freddie of Quail, and Geneva Pringle and husband Leslie of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Faith City Mission, 401 W. Second Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101-1511; or Salvation Army, 400 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101-1442.
