Philip Lee Collum, 71, Erie, Mich., the husband of a former Wells County resident, died Sept. 29, 2008, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Mr. Collum was married for 35 years to the former Karen Sue Mounsey.
He died when he was crushed by a farm tractor at his home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Williston, Ohio.
He married his wife Aug. 21, 1973, in Winchester, Va.; she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Shelia (Scott Farnsworth) Whitman, Serena (Mike) Asbra, Kevin (Carol) Collum, Ronda (Scott) Ring, Sheri (Jeff) Brediger, and Heidi (Saul) Cerda, plus 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Collum was a track inspector for the Federal Railway Association and worked for the Wheeling Railroad and the Norfolk and Western Railroad for more than 45 years before his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Lambertville, Mich., United Methodist Church.
Services were held Oct. 4 at the church. The Bedford Funeral Chapel, Temperance, Mich., was in charge of arrangements.
