Clarence John "Doc" Collopy, 83, widower of Marion "Sis" Ewing Collopy, of Spring City, went to join Sis on Wednesday afternoon, September 22, 2010. They were married 56 years.
Born in Modena, PA, he was the son of the late Gerald A. and Caroline E. (Taylor) Collopy.
He moved to Spring City as a young child and remained in the same home until passing.
A veteran, he proudly served his country as a medic during World War II.
Doc and Sis owned and operated Collopy's Market in Spring City until the late 1960's. Doc was a firefighter for the federal government at Valley forge Army Hospital until its closing and then the Coatesville Veteran's Hospital. Upon his retirement from the feral government he became Chief of Police in Spring City where he had served as a part time officer for many years prior.
Doc enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He and Sis loved to travel and go camping. After finally retiring from public service the volunteered as a campground hosts in the Shenandoah National Park for several years. To Doc, there were no strangers, only friends he hadn't met.
He was a life member of the Liberty Fiore Company, Spring City, The Thomas W. O'Connor post 602 Spring City American Legion and F.O.P. Lodge #11 Chester County, and Tribal Member of the Eastern Delaware Nation.

Bullick Jr, Joseph John Bullick and Jennifer Danby of Spring City. He also survived by his brother, Gerald A. Collopy Jr., husband of Rose, and two sisters, Laurel, wife of Robert Leister, and Shirley, wife of Edward Brimmer.
