Funeral services will be held for Elgin "Skeet" Collinsworth, 93, in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Myron Thompson and Rev. Larry Carr, officiating. Interment will follow at the Campground Cemetery at Bienville, LA. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1680 First St, Arcadia, LA 71001.
Mr. Skeet was born July 31, 1919 in Simsboro, LA to Robert Clark Collinsworth and Pearl Powell Collinsworth. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 at his home in Lucky with his family at his side. Mr. Skeet was a WWII veteran and after the war he worked as a mechanic and later owned his own pulpwood company. After retiring from the pulpwood business, Mr. Skeet continued to work as a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Pauline Hennigan Collinsworth and an infant daughter, Mary Donna. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, W.D. "Dub" Collinsworth, Ben Collinsworth and one sister, Bobbie Jean Durbin.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda and husband Douglas Buckley and Bonna and husband Jerry Dison, all of Lucky, LA; one brother, Donovan "Josh" Collinsworth and one sister, Olivian Moore; five grandchildren, Mitchell and wife Cathy Buckley, Monica and husband Mike Lewis, Jessica Dison, Jenna and husband Brian Hurt, and Jake Dison and girlfriend Calie; great-grandchildren, Caden, Destiny, Carter, Drake, Hayden, Tyler, Archer, Nicholas, Katie and husband Tim, Krisi and Sarah; and one great-great-granddaughter Kaylee.
Pallbearers will be son-in-laws and grandsons.
