Mary Elizbaeth "Betty" Blankenship, 89, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Vintage Park at Tonganoxie. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at St. Mary/St. Anthony Catholic Church, 615 N. Seventh St., KCK. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at the church. The family would appreciate donations to the church or to the Little Sisters of the Lamb. Mary Elizabeth was born July 7, 1923, to William and Bridget (Schwed) Collins in Kansas City, Kan. Betty worked at Darby and Owens Corning Fiberglass Co., and following from there she worked as an office manager at Premier Wine & Spirits for over 38 years, retiring in 1990. Betty was a member of St. Anthony's Altar Society and Senior Citizens Group. She loved playing bridge and bingo. Preceding her in death was her husband, Dale A. Blankenship in 1964; brothers, William, Harry, Bernie and Leo Collins; sisters, Viola Stokes and Eileen Talkin. Surviving her are daughters and sons- in-law, Patricia (David-"Tom") Isabell, and Connie (Nick) Kucenic; two grandchildren, Sean (Kelly) Isabell and Melanie Kucenic; two great grandchildren, Sienna and Alea Isabell; and one brother, Eugene (Bernice) Collins.
