|Birth: ||Aug. 7, 1936|
|Death: ||May 17, 1990|
Born: 7 Aug 1936 Corbin Ky.
Died:17 May 1990 Danville,In.
He was the son of:
Thomas and Mary Lay-Collins,from Corbin Ky.
Aaron was the brother to:
Thomas Jr.( my dad)), Matt, William: aka Bill, Jack, Roy, Albert(he is the one that murdered my dad-Thomas Jr), James, Pansy, Polly, Maggie.
When Aaron and his family came to Indiana from the hills of Ky. They rented the "OLD MILL School House" a little south west of Danville,Back in the late 40's very early 50's. They lived in the old school for afew years.
As a child I remember going there to visit all the time.
Uncle Aaron told his family he wanted to be buried there by the old school,and not with the rest of the family in the Danville South Cemetery. he is buried real close to the house.He loved it out in the country growing up. That is why he is out there buried.
Plus across the road his brother Jim lived with his family on a farm for a few years. Uncle Aaron spent alot of time out there with them. Things have changed so much, the cemetery use to be small. and not many houses around.
Uncle Aaron was married to Ruth Ann ? for some years. They never had any children. I always loved her.
Uncle to 27 of us
and 1 step niece, (sherry, Roy's STEP daughter no blood)
Uncle Aaron was my favorite uncle on dads side of the family. He was always there when I needed him, and I was there for him.
I remember him sitting in the court room back in Oct. 1981. He was lisening to all of us on the stand talk about his brothers and his mom. My dad was his brother and was murdered by his brother . Uncle Aaron sat there a few tears ran down his cheek as I spoke. He knew I was hurt, I was mad, and when the prosecutor ask me " do you think Albert Collins fears God"? Albert was sitting there in his chair looking pittiful there clingging to his Bible. "Do you think he fears God?" I looked at him and said " HELL NO!He does not fear God! and then out of anger all those years ago, I added but he better fear _ _!?. Uncle Aaron looked up at me and our eyes locked. He was hurting so bad I could tell,But Later that day I told him. "I did not cause this uncle Aaron and you know it"." I never wanted to hurt you" "a lot of what I told in court that day was pretty bad". He told me he knew. and knew I was hurting too.
Before Uncle Aaron Died, I went to see him for the last time. It pained me so to see him wasted to skin clingging to his bones. He smelled so bad, oozing from his pours, his eyes were yellow, and dripping, The cancer had eaten him up all over. I told him I loved him,and to tell Dad to be good and I loved and missed him. He shook his head up and down, I went over to him and kissed him good bye, he patted my hand and said good bye honey and I love you too. This was in a nursing home in Avon. In fact my X sister in law worked there and kept me up to date on him.
Uncle Aaron Like my dad Thomas Collins Jr, had a ruff hard life growing up in Corbin, and having the so called mom they had,,,Well their pain is gone now.. Only happiness for them xoxo
I miss him and and will always love him no matter what.
