Second wife of Pvt. Morrison Collins (1834-1921). Mother of three children including Phil Sheridan Collins (1886-1965). Stepmother of Ida and Mary Colllins. Her first husband was Sgt. William F. Coulter originally from Pennsylvania, living in Corydon in 1861. William fought in Co. L, 3rd Iowa Cavalry. He enlisted August 5, 1861 as Farrier. Mustered Sept. 12, 1861. Promoted Second Sergeant Nov. 1, 1862. Deserted June 20, 1863. Sarah married Morrison Collins in 1866.
