FENNIMORE/MOUNT HOPE - Doris (Vance) Collins, age 90, of Fennimore, and formerly of Mount Hope, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Center in Fennimore. She was born Oct. 30, 1917, in Sawyer County, Wis., to George and Emma (Steiner) Vance. She married James Collins on Feb. 22, 1938, at St. Lawrence O' Toole Catholic Church in Mount Hope.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Marcus) Richter of Peoria, Ariz.; two sons, John "Duane" (Jackie) Collins of Waunakee, and Dennis (Dawne) Collins of Mount Hope. She is also survived by her sister, Ila Bollinger of Madison; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Collins of Bagley; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John James Collin, on Jan. 20, 1982; a son, Larry, on March 14, 2003; a daughter, Mary Jeanette, in 1955; and was also preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Fennimore, with Father George Horath officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church Cemetery, Mount Hope, Wis.
