Born June 2, 1915 to James and Elizabeth (Allen) Guilder in Fair Haven, VT.
After graduating from Fair Haven School and Castleton State Teachers College, she taught in various schools in Whitehall and Hampton, NY. After which she acquired a position at Fort Ann Central School as a 6th Grade Social Studies teacher until her retirement in 1971.
She loved spending time with family and friends, playing piano, card games, painting, square dancing, camping and fishing.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Collins in 1983.
Survivors include her daughter Barbara LaTourrette and her husband William of Fort Ann; four grandchildren, Adrian Crandall and his wife Sandy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Christine Hall of Hudson Falls, Corby Crandall and Sue Mattison of Salem, Larry Crandall and Gabrielle Carpenter of Glens Falls; eight great-grandchildren, Karrie Crandall, Justin and Nathan Hall, Cameron, Avery and Mattea Crandall, Devon Crandall and Leiryn Crandall; two great-great grandchildren, Parker and Jackson Baker; and best friend Ken Sisco of Hartford, NY.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, June 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mason Funeral Home in Fort Ann, NY.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 12th at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Fair Haven VT.
