Born in Samson County, N.C. to parents Valentine S. Vann and
wife name unknown.
Married James P. Collins abt. 1837 in Tennessee.
They came to Crockett, Houston County in 1854.
They raised their large family here.
1. John Collins (1838 - 1869)
2. Eliza P. Collins (1840 - 1888)
3. Samuel Collins (1844 - 1863)
4. Susan Bliss (1846 - 1916)
5. Lucy Collins (1848 - ____)
6. James Vann Collins (1850 - 1916)
7. Jaennie Collins (1852 - 1895)
8. Anna Bell Collins (1854 - 1855)
9. W. P. Collins (1856 - 1892)
10. Robert Bliss (1858 - 1859)
11. Thomas Earnest (1860 - 1861)
12. Hennie Amelia (1862 - 1863)
13. Arthur W. (1865 - 1926

She died in 1895 - 1900 in Crockett, Houston County, Texas.
She is buried in the Old Glenwood Cemetery, Crockett, Texas, with her family.

Daughter; Susan Bliss "Sudie" Collins Prewit (1846 - 1916)

From Madison Co., Tennesse records there was a daughter Fannie Whitfield Collins born about 1848 and died there 26 Aug 1849 before the family came to Crockett.

In Glenwood Cem. this Collins family has a squared column with the names of six of their children on it, the three oldest stated as born in Jackson, Tenn. and the other three in Crockett, Texas. I did not see a Lucy on it. The 18 Dec. 1863 date on that stone belongs to the last named child, Hennie Amelia Collins. 22 Apr 1862 - 18 Dec 1863.

The only Lucy Collins that I have in that area is the wife of John Collins. He died a young man in 1870 and I believe was named on that column. Lucy Anna Collins (née) Atkinson had dates of 11 Feb 1841 - 18 Jul 1925.
Can you shed any light on the Lucy Collins shown in your listing?

Many thanks in advance.
