Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Blanche Virginia Thomas Colledge, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009 at her home. She resided at 2597 South April Road (8750 West) in Magna, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born July 11, 1922 in Lehi, Utah to James and Katherine Jones Thomas.
She married Evan Martell Colledge on November 1, 1941 in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple; he died March 23, 1982.
Virginia was an active member of the LDS Church. She retired from Beehive Clothing and worked ten years at the LDS Membership Records. She avidly attended the Magna Senior Citizens Center three times a week. She enjoyed softball and bowling, and won first prize every year for entering a crocheted doily in the Utah State Fair. Her # 1 love was her family.
She is survived by her children, Charles (Janet), Virginia, Ray, Pamela (Ron), Carrielee, and Craig (Elveria); sister, Kate Mecham; twenty-seven grandchildren; thrity-four great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-one years, one son, one grandson, four sisters, and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 in the West Valley Third Ward Chapel, 3963 South Peachwood Drive (3450 West). Friends and family may call on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and Monday from 12:00-12:45 p.m. at the Church.
Interment: Lehi City Cemetery.
