Edna Mae Coleman Aulick, 96, a resident of Falmouth, Ky., died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at Carmel Manor Mursing Home in Ft. Thomas, Ky.
She was born in Pendleton County on May 12, 1908, a dau of the late Martin & Lizzie Hume Coleman. She was a 1926 graduate of Falmouth High School, graduate of the University of Kentucky and Engish teacher for over 50 years. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse, Falmouth High School, Pendleton County High School, in Hollywood, Fla. and Broward Co. Fla school systems, and member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth, past president of Falmouth Women's Club, member of Pendleton Co. Retired Teacheers Association and Northern Ky. retired teachers association. She was named a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Matha Layne Collins as a pioneer for Cancer research funding in Pendleton Co.
Survivors include: two grandchildren: Marcia Claire Wingate of Walnut Creek, Calif., and David Woodhead of Washington D.C.; two great-grandchildren, Lisa and Patrick and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Woodhead in 1942, and 2nd husband, Clarence Aulick in 1961. Her son, Dr. David A. Woodhead died in 1972, and four brothers, Harry, Frank, Wilbur and Leslie Coleman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Nov 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Falmouth. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Falmouth. Visitation will take place Wednesday, Nov 3 from 4-8 p.m. at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church for masses.
